Emeryville Public Market https://www.plantconstruction.com/projects/emeryville-public-market/ Tue, 26 Dec 2017 22:33:29 +0000 http://www.plantconstruction.com/?post_type=projects&p=1656 Plant is performing a four and a half year long complete redevelopment of a 10 acre industrial site located in Emeryville, CA. The area once housed the large Pabco Manufacturing Plant, making roofing and fiberboard products and various paint facilities. The work consists of construction of two new approx. 145,000sf post tensioned concrete parking structures built over ground floor retail space, a steel structured restaurant building and ten blocks of completely new utility infrastructure and streetscape and a new 1.25 acre park and playground. The project is located in a very heavily trafficked part of Emeryville and directly adjacent to residential apartment blocks, a flourishing food court and operating businesses. To perform the infrastructure and street work we constructed a temporary bypass-road to reroute traffic around the site. The work also involves tight coordination with other general contractors on site, one performing the work of a residential apartment building in Parcel A to the north and the other building out the grocery store on the ground floor of our first parking structure. The first parking structure and the first phase of the streets will be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2017. The remainder of the street Work will finish at the end of 2017. The second parking structure work and city park work will begin in the 4th quarter of 2017.

Prada Beverly Hills https://www.plantconstruction.com/projects/prada-beverly-hills/ Wed, 10 Sep 2014 18:44:26 +0000 http://www.plantconstruction.com/?post_type=projects&p=533 Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rem Koolhaas, the Prada Beverly Hills boutique is a 3-story, 24,000 sq ft building, which includes 14,750 sq ft of retail space. The store features many unusual, brand-specific finishes and is distinguished by the absence of a facade. The entire 50-foot storefront opens directly onto Rodeo Drive. Without a traditional storefront or glass enclosure, the design invites the public to enter the building while achieving climate control through an environmentally responsive air-curtain system. At night, an aluminum panel rises directly from the ground to seal the building. In 2012, Plant Construction remodeled the original store. The scope of the remodel included reconfiguration the main stairs, all new interior finishes, and installation of new storefront.

The City Creek Center is a 20-acre multi-use, multi-billion dollar downtown revitalization effort recently completed in the center of Salt Lake City. The Nordstrom store anchors one end of the project, at West Temple Street, with a mall frontage overlooking the central Richard’s Court. The 2-1/2-story store departs from the typical Nordstrom exterior by using a custom LED illuminated glass structure as street facade, able to glow softly in programmable colors. The remainder of the shell is a mix of Jerusalem and Travertine composite stone panels, storefront glazed entry portals, and channel glass elements. The interior displays some new Nordstrom concepts for more flexible layouts and brighter colors. Rounding out the Nordstrom shopping experience are a full-service restaurant, E-bar cafe, and lobby connections to underground parking.
